Are you a Canadian Getting Married in the Dominican Republic?

Here are the documents required to get married in the Dominican Republic.

It can be super stressful to figure out everything you need, be prepared, and not forget anything for the big day.  It is sometimes confusing to understand all the requirements they need to get married in the Dominican Republic.

If you are Canadian and are getting married in the Dominican Republic, you will need the original documents plus the translations into Spanish (if the documents are not in Spanish) for each document.

If you are Single
Birth Certificate – Long Form
Single Status Affidavit
Copy of passport

If you are Divorced
Birth Certificate – Long Form
Divorce Certificate
Single Status Affidavit
Copy of passport

If you are Widowed
Birth Certificate – Long Form
Marriage Certificate
Death Certificate
Copy of passport

*NOTE* – If your documents are not from Canada, for example if you were born in another country, now live in Canada, and are getting married in the Dominican Republic, the requirements are different. Contact us for more information.
